Comparisons of Materials: Coefficient of Thermal Expansion
[This page is adapted from this page: http://www.handyharmancanada.com/TheBrazingBook/comparis.htm
with the following changes: Header color changed for readability.  Data sorted alpha for second table.
The Celsius columns were converted to 10-6 from 10-5 and moved next to Materials column.
The C column is simply 9/5 of the F column, which is the original relationship within rounding limits.]
2006-12-19 Rev. 2007-03-15

Values represent high and low sides of a range of typical values.
Value at room temperature only. (grey)
Value for a temperature range between room temperature and 212-750°F/100-390°C (maroon)
Value for a temperature range between room temperature and 1000-1800°F/540-980°C (orange)
Value for a temperature range between room temperature and 2200-2875°F/1205-1580°C (red)

(* or mm/mm)  COE is given in distance per length per degree.  Thus the ratio is actually independent of unit, but do differ between F & C because the degrees are different size.  It may be more meaningful to look with different units for length and distance,- for example, these numbers also apply to mm/km so a kilometer long piece of zinc would change 34.7 mm (about a foot) for each change of one degree Celsius.
On the scale of this chart, lime glass has a COE of  8.0-10.6 (usually given as 80-106 x 10^7) and Pyrex (borosilicate) about 3.2 link

Values are each number times 10-6  (0.000001) so first value is 0.0000347
